Wednesday Train Rides

Railtown 1897 will offer two diesel train rides on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and noon starting June 20 through August 15, 2018. All excursion train ride passengers will be treated to a six-mile, 45-minute round trip ride along the rails of the famous "Movie Railroad," passing through California's scenic Gold Country where scenes from many Hollywood movies were filmed. Railtown 1897 SHP will be open from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on August 7 in celebration of National Night Out. Special activities will be offered, including free Park admission, free excursion train rides behind a historic diesel locomotive, free speeder rides, fun giveaways (while supplies last), canine demonstrations by California State Parks, K9 Unit, hands-on activities for children, plus “meet and greet” opportunities with several local law enforcement agencies. Railtown 1897 is proud to present the 5th Annual "Working on the Railroad—A Celebration of Sierra Railway Workers" on Saturday, September 15, 2018. Tricks, Treats and Train Rides offers families a safe and fun trick or treat location and delightful, not frightful, Halloween activities. Hosted from 5 to 8 p.m., tickets include various candy stations, a magic show, theme crafts and games, and more.
