Open Daily (November-March, 10:00am-3:00pm; April-October, 9:30am-4:30pm)

Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.

Trains operate every Saturday and Sunday from April-October, 10:30am, 12:00pm, 1:30pm & 3:00pm

From Yosemite
Follow Highway 120-East to the Highway 49 junction. Take Highway 49-North (it merges in just a few miles with Highway 120). Take Highways 120/49-North and East to Jamestown. In Jamestown continue on Highway 49/108, passing the historic downtown district, for approximately one-half mile to Fifth Avenue. Turn right onto Fifth Avenue(south), and follow the road for approximately one mile to Railtown 1897 State Historic Park.

 

From San Francisco/East Bay/San Jose
Take Interstate Highway 205-East to Stockton/Modesto. Follow signs to Highway 120/108-East. Take Highway 108/120-East to the Yosemite turnoff. Continue following Highway 108 towards Sonora and Jamestown. Highways 49 merges with Highway 108 before you get to Jamestown. In Jamestown continue on Highway 49/108, passing the historic downtown district, for approximately one-half mile to Fifth Avenue. Turn right onto Fifth Avenue (south), and follow the road for approximately one mile to Railtown 1897 State Historic Park.

 

From Modesto/Stockton/Lodi
Take Highway 108/120-East to the Yosemite turnoff. Continue following Highway 108 towards Sonora and Jamestown. Highway 49 merges with Highway 108 before you reach Jamestown. In Jamestown continue on Highway 108, passing the historic downtown district, for approximately one-half mile to Fifth Avenue. Turn right onto Fifth Avenue (south), and follow the road for approximately one mile to Railtown 1897 State Historic Park.

 

From Sacramento
You have a choice of routes, each of which has similar drive times but differing sights along the way. First option: Take Highway 16-East to Highway 49-South. Your trip will take you through Gold Country towns including Sutter Creek, Jackson, San Andreas, Angels Camp, and Sonora. Continue following Highway 49-South to Jamestown. Just before reaching historic downtown Jamestown, watch for Fifth Avenue on your left. Turn left, and head south on Fifth Avenue for approximately one mile to Railtown 1897 State Historic Park. Second Option: Take Highway 99-South to Stockton, then follow the directions listed above for Modesto/Stockton/Lodi.

 

From South Lake Tahoe/Placerville
Take Highway 50-West to Highway 49-South. Your trip will take you through Gold Country towns including Sutter Creek, Jackson, San Andreas, Angels Camp, and Sonora. Continue following Highway 49-South to Jamestown. Just before reaching historic downtown Jamestown, watch for Fifth Avenue on your left. Turn left, and head south on Fifth Avenue for approximately one mile to Railtown 1897 State Historic Park.
